Madison, you sure showed off for Michelle and Charlie’s wedding day. One minute it was blazing hot and the next it was downpouring, but with a couple as relaxed as this, the weather barely made them blink. Everywhere you turned, there was someone to laugh alongside — whether it was Charlie momentarily forgetting his shoes minutes before the service began, a sweet little boy named Eli needing a bathroom break in the woods, the song Michelle sang to Charlie during the ceremony, or the poem Michelle’s friend wrote and read at their reception — the day was filled to the brim with smiles and love. Thank you, Michelle and Charlie, for inviting me into your beautiful day. Also, a special thanks to Michelle’s brother, John, who pointed these two in my direction. (John is my friend and longtime photography mentor — he has been a continual positive presence and photographic influence on me and many, many others.)

Michelle and Charlie’s ceremony was held at Paradise Park, Cottage Grove — one of Wisconsin’s gorgeous, hidden gems. 🙂 When the owners purchased the property 20+ years ago, it was entirely farmland. They then bought and planted 8,000 seedlings to make the area into what we see today.
Madison and your beautiful lakes … I didn’t mind hanging out here.
