Whew. We survived another week. Go us!
I’m most likely still on my sleep-induced high from Gracey’s five-hour stretch last night (can I get a Congratulations?), but I’m starting to feel a bit more like … well, like me.
Mamas, you know what I mean. The 48-hour pajama parties are becoming less and less. Mascara is creeping back into my daily routine. Jeans are passing up sweatpants in the laundry rotation. Leaving the house with little Gracey seems a bit more appealing and ever-so-slightly less terrifying. And oh …
… we finally figured out how to make baby bath time enjoyable. Yup, we’re proud. Tommy and I pat ourselves on the backs while Gracey looks up at us thinking, “What the heck took you guys so long.” We’ve ditched the sponge baths — I’m now certain we were supposed to ditch them about five weeks ago, but hey … they don’t tell you how to bathe a baby as you’re being discharged. (OK … they do. But honestly, after carrying a baby for nine months, who remembers anything besides your baby’s face those first couple days.) We now lower Gracey into her baby tub — her bottom half submerged in the warm water — and she loooooooves it. Like, get-me-a-good-book-and-a-glass-of-wine loves it. It’s ADORABLE. Tommy says all she needs now is some candles … 🙂
She’s so close to smiling in the photo above, I can just FEEL it!
I’ve also started doing some newspaper work again the past couple of weeks, so my camera is back to clicking! Tomorrow, I have a session with a six-month-old — I can’t wait. Check back soon for some special posts! 🙂 Have a great weekend!
