So, moving with a toddler is fun.
Fun as in, a hundred times harder than the previous 15 times I’ve moved. 😉
It’s been quite the week, but we are in our new house! With a bottle of Aleve on hand and our incredibly awesome parents, siblings and friends, we somehow managed to transfer houses on Tuesday. In between our two closings, everything we owned was completely mobile! Yes, that was one big U-Haul, two packed-to-the-ceiling cars, and several things stored at our family members’ homes. But we made it. Ahhhhhh. Thank goodness for family, we couldn’t have done it without their help.
A few of you fellow parents might be wondering if I have any tips for moving with a young child. Yes, I do have one amazingly helpful piece of advice: Don’t do it. 🙂
I kid.
My first thought is this: Try your best to make sure your baby or toddler is healthy for the big week ahead. Gracey came down with a pretty awful cold/sinus infection/cough/congestion the week of our move, and that made things all the more stressful on her. My second (and last) piece of advice would be, designate a family member or trusted friend to be in charge of watching your child. It’s unbelievable how hard things get when you’re hauling boxes into a home that isn’t yet child-proofed. Not only do you have random everythings lying around, but those tiny little feet are in ultra-exploring mode. 🙂
Tomorrow is our family’s March of Dimes walk in honor of my nephew, Griffin. 🙂 I wanted to extend a sincere THANK YOU to those who made donations and helped babies in need. I met my fundraising goal and my heart is happy!
Check back soon for some photos from Saturday’s wedding — Steph and Kyle looked absolutely in love!!
