Friday’s Frame

It’s been a heckuva week.

As I approach the 18-week mark of my pregnancy, Baby Gardner is going through a bit of a growth spurt (according to my doctors). You know, growing those legs that will make it the 6’6″ true combination of Tommy and me. 😉

You’d think everyone would be content and happy about the growth spurt. Buuuut, no. Fibroids do not like growth spurts. The baby takes precedence in this body of mine, and the fibroid is angry. It’s getting irritated about this whole “sharing a womb” thing. I can’t remember the last time I’ve experienced such intense, relentless pain. Tuesday night through this morning was … for lack of a better word … awful. But I’m praying the worst has passed, and I can continue on with the day-to-day normalcy we all take for granted.

Through all this, the baby is still doing well, and on Monday, Tommy and I will go for our “big” ultrasound. In more technical terms, Monday’s appointment will be the major anatomy scan doctors do at the middle of your pregnancy. We’re praying the baby is healthy and strong. As for the gender? Yes, we’re going to find out (hopefully!), but honestly, we just want a healthy child. Boy or girl, bring it on. 🙂

With my appetite finally back in place tonight, Tommy and I decided to get some Chinese takeout. I picked my fortune … and I think it’s a keeper. 🙂

Have a great weekend, everyone.
