For as long as this blog has been around, I’ve written it from one place — our home.
And today? Well, today is the last day I’ll write Friday’s Frame from *this* home. Tommy, Gracey and I are moving to a new house in just a few short days. 🙂
This leaves me, of course, emotional over everything and nothing. My feelings must be one part stress and three parts I’m-a-big-mushy-sap.
If these walls could talk, they’d have a lot of memories to spill. I think about the night Tommy and I slept on the spare bedroom floor next to our new little puppy, Mya. I remember the pictures my best friend, Jenny, took in our front lawn just hours before Tommy proposed. I laugh about the walks and talks through our neighborhood, some of which ended with me turning around halfway and walking home by myself. 🙂 (Hey, we’re both stubborn.) I think of how much patience and love Tommy has shown me as he quietly waits in the living room while I finish editing just one. more. photo. But most of all, I think about the place in my heart this house will forever hold — our very first memories with Gracey.
The sleepless nights I laid awake, shifting from one room to the other, during my difficult pregnancy with our baby girl. Her adorable little room, the floors on which she took her very first steps, and the place Tommy and I play with her every night before bedtime. This house holds so many precious memories — for this reason, it’s hard to leave.
When the sun was shining earlier this week, I spent some time with Gracey outdoors. We soaked up the warmer weather and played on the front lawn. This is where the tiniest intricacies to her personality shine brightest — I wanted to capture a few more of these moments before we make a new house her home.
I’ll forever love how she backs her little butt into my lap …
Or lays her head down next to me, glancing up to make sure I’m still there …
She carries her dolly around in the sweetest don’t-you-dare-take-this-from-me kind of way.
Remembering the “definitely needs a haircut and totally not getting one” stage …
Every time she hears a train, her little hand goes up and points.
And these eyes. I’m addicted.
A busy week is ahead for us all. 🙂 But first, I’m SO excited to photograph Steph and Kyle’s Fond du Lac wedding tomorrow! The weather is supposed to be gorgeous and I can’t wait to capture beautiful memories for these two. Hello 2013 wedding season!
Have a WARM weekend, everyone!
