Friday’s Frame ~ Family time

Oh boy oh boy oh girl.

Last night, I did a Skype call with a 2015 bride. When I’m working in the evenings, Super Dad is in charge of our three babes. Tommy decided to take them on a car ride, but within minutes of ending my video chat, I heard our Screamin’ Sammy right outside the back door. Turns out Sam’arama had different ideas about letting Daddy enjoy a relaxing ride. We brought the kids inside and settled them down. (This involved bouncing, pacifiers, feeding, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and maybe a gummy bear or two.) Tommy looked at me, put his head on my shoulder and said, “I don’t know how you do it.”

“Do it” as in, do this all-day-every-day.

You just do. Any parent understands the stress level three young children bring. Twins are hard but they are double the blessing, too. I told Tommy I go to my happy place many times a day. Meaning, I check out of the stress and remind myself how blessed we truly are. I recently came across a Cherokee proverb, one that really stuck with me. It’s called, “The Wolf You Choose to Feed.”

“A wise tribal elder told a story to his grandson one evening by the fire. ‘Inside me, there is a fight raging between two wolves. One wolf is anger, bitterness, self-pity, jealousy, and sorrow. The other wolf is love, faith, hope, peace, forgiveness, and joy. Both wolves are strong, and they battle fiercely – not just in me, but in everyone, even you.’

The young boy thought for a moment and asked, ‘Grandfather, which wolf will win?’

The wise elder replied, ‘The one you feed.’”

Nothing is more true. Stay positive, friends. 🙂

To catch up on a few photos from the past couple of weeks … Easter, a trip to the zoo and giggles on the couch with Big Sis. 😉

We promised Gracey a trip to the zoo as soon as she was feeling better from her tonsillectomy. She was in HEAVEN. 🙂

Gracey insisted on putting two tiny heart stickers on her baby brothers before I took this picture … melt.

My first wedding of 2014 is quickly approaching … just a couple more weeks before Caitlin and Mike say I Do. 🙂 Have a great weekend!
