Friday’s Frame ~ Franklin children’s photographer

Friday. It seems to be the busiest day of the week for me … prep for the next day’s wedding, an attempt to get caught up with editing from the week before, and a sweep of my Inbox, all in hopes of a work-free Sunday.

Today was all that, and a little more. I paid a visit to my accountant (who is quite possibly the nicest, most organized man alive), but you pretty much need to be if you’re a tax guy, right? RIGHT. All I will say is this: It seems as though there’s a “photographer” at every turn these days. How do you choose which one is best? Many people tend to consider price first. We all want a deal. But honestly, friends — there’s not an ounce of professionalism in the cheapest “professional photographers.” Straight up, they simply can’t be paying taxes — they can’t be legal with those prices. As with any small business owner, approximately 40 percent of what I pull in (yes, FORTY) isn’t my money — it goes right to the government. Helloooooo taxes. You pay taxes, your parents pay taxes, we ALL pay taxes. Be sure to support a true professional whose talent and business practices are legit.

On to more exciting topics. 🙂 Today, I wanted to share a super precious photo I captured at a family session this week. I’ve photographed Kiya and Alyssa several times now, and I simply can’t believe how quickly these girls are growing up! Kiya was all decked out in her “First Day of Preschool” dress. 🙂 So adorable.

Have a great weekend, everyone, and enjoy the beautiful weather!
