Today, I am thankful for parents.
At the end of the day, when I’m putting Gracey in her pajamas, I somehow end up singing the song, “You Are My Sunshine.”
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine.
You make me happy, when skies are grey.
You’ll never know dear, how much I love you.
So please, don’t take my sunshine away.
Every time I sing it, I think of my father — I think of how he used to sing it to me. I also think of my mother, and how much they’ve both loved me all along. I knew, but I didn’t. I think about how they should change the song to say, “You’ll never know dear, how much I love you … UNTIL you have children of your own.”
Each and every moment Tommy and I get to see our parents with Gracey is a blessing. For this, I’m truly thankful.
Today, my mom brought her iPad over and showed Gracey some pictures of my nephew, Baby Griffin. 🙂
Too much love in one photo. 😉
(Yes, she likes her sippy cups. One in each hand, to be exact.)
Have a great weekend, everyone.
