Kayla and Andrew β™₯ Milwaukee engagement photographer

So I hear it’s “snowing” in Dallas. We’re getting about 16 inches in the next two hours or something, and Dallas is getting … a little ice. πŸ™‚

I keep skimming the news to see if they’ll show Aaron Rodgers throwing snowballs at the Steelers, or Clay Matthews pushing cars out of the ditch. I mean, someone has to teach those southerners how to DEAL!

As for me? Well, it’s February 1st. Basically, that means I have about one more month to hole up in my office day in, day out, and continue working on the business side of my photography: Taxes (ohhhhhhh taxes, you make my stomach hurt), expenses, scheduling sessions, editing, wedding consultations, designing samples, working on my new website, and pretty much focusing on everything beyond simply taking photos. Snapping the pictures and spending time with super fun people is the easy part! Speaking of, let’s take a look at one of my 2011 couples …

He’s a polar bear, Kayla says. Her fiancΓ©, Andrew, never gets cold! Good thing, I thought, seeing as how I wore four layers of clothing to their engagement session last weekend.

These two sweethearts met in middle school. But they weren’t all, K-I-S-S-I-N-G back then. “He liked my friend,” Kayla laughed. As soon as they both graduated and attended their school’s Open House, Kayla and Andrew decided middle school was the most perfect place to meet your soul mate …

And yes, this is the middle school … A.E. Burdick in Milwaukee. πŸ™‚

I simply can’t pass up a bright blue sky in the dead of Wisconsin’s winter …

For memories’ sake, I decided to shoot a picture with the actual temperature during their photo session … 14.8 degrees! P.S., it was 12 degrees by the water. πŸ™‚

Thanks so much for the laughs, K+A. πŸ˜‰ I can’t wait for your big day.

In other news … To anyone who is still reading β€” thank you, loyal blog friend! You might be curious to hear whether my sister-in-law had her baby yet! (I mentioned she was very close to delivering in my last post.) Well, she’s now veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery close. I think. I hope. It’s pretty much the longest labor process I’ve ever heard of. And I watch Bringing Home Baby! It’s just not like that in real life, I suppose. πŸ˜‰

Happy snowman building!!
