Lauren and Michael ~ Lake Geneva wedding photographer

“I’m your girl and you’re my man, and we’re makin’ plans. I can’t wait to grow old making plans with you.”

As he read the words she had embroidered for him on a handkerchief, a smile came across his face. The card, her words — they were perfect. Family and friends began to filter into the church, and their son stood just footsteps way. Michael soon realized the best day of his life was about to begin.

The time has come, my friends. You’re about to view my last wedding of 2011! I’d be remiss if I didn’t say this one was a favorite. Yes, I have lots of favorites. But, I love love. I love kind people. Kind people in love? The BEST.

Lauren and Michael — two of the nicest, most gentle souls I’ve come across all year. The best part? They’re actually a trio — they have a little boy together, Michael Jr. The thing is, Lauren doesn’t stress. Ever. About anything. That beautiful, relaxed smile you see on her face? It’s permanent. And Michael is the truest of gentlemen. He’s the last one to enter because he holds the door for everyone else. He hugs people like he means it. When they’re looking into each others’ eyes, you know in your heart true love exists.

She says he looks like Brett Favre. I can totally see it. He says the day they met, she chased him down during a golf charity event. I can see that, too. “She wouldn’t let me kiss her until I bought her dinner,” he laughs. She agrees.

Not only did he buy her dinner, he decided to add on a lifetime of love and happiness. Congrats to you both, Lauren and Michael. Couples like you are what make my job a dream.

Have you ever seen a more beautiful bride? As one of her bridesmaids said, “She’s perfect. It’s not even fair.” 🙂

This moment at the beginning of the ceremony gets me every time. It’s a good thing my camera covers up the tears in my eyes.

I’m in love with the photo below, mostly because Michael’s look couldn’t be more telling. I think he’s feeling like a pretty lucky man …

Same moment, different angle from my second photographer, Jen …

A big thanks to my friend Gary (pictured below), also a good friend of Lauren and Michael’s, for referring me as their photographer. 🙂

Honest to goodness, they can make dancing in the middle of a bar look romantic …

Lauren and Michael’s reception was held at The Riviera, Lake Geneva — quite possibly one of the prettiest venues in Wisconsin.

These were white chocolate covered green grapes on a stick … and yes, they were pretty much the most delicious thing ever.

Lauren and Michael, thank you for allowing me to witness some incredibly special moments in the story of your relationship. Here’s to wishing you a hundreds years of love and happiness. 🙂
