Beautiful blue skies, a comforting summer breeze, a stop-’em-dead-in-their-tracks wedding dress, and one of the most strikingly gorgeous venues in the city. No matter which way you looked, Brooke and Matthew’s wedding day was the picture of perfection.
“There’s just something about Matt,” Brooke’s mom said about a year ago as she paged through a photo album and showed me pictures of her newly engaged daughter. More than a guy or two had tried to win her daughter’s love over the years, but Matt is — without a doubt — the man who captured her heart. With his contagious smile and her panache, Brooke and Matt are the perfect compliments of each other.
Just two Saturdays back, the couple traveled from their home in New York to marry right here in Milwaukee — Brooke’s hometown. The ceremony took place at the gorgeous St. John’s Cathedral, followed by a reception at the coveted Grain Exchange. I was absolutely honored to watch it all unfold. (A special thanks goes out to my friend and fellow photographer, Emily Engelhardt, who served as a second photographer for the day.) Also, a big thank you to Melanie at Yellow Brick Events — she kept things running smoothly and according to plan all day long. 🙂
