Friday’s Frame ~ Road trip

Gracey sat up on her own for the first time tonight. Shortly thereafter, she learned how to drive. Tomorrow, she’s off to college and next week, Tommy and I will be retiring.

🙂

That’s kind of how it goes, right? I’ve been shedding a few extra tears this week as I rock our baby girl to sleep. She’s developing so fast. Yesterday’s worry is today’s joy. She’s eating solids and “pretty much” sleeping through the night (knock on wood). She loves to watch people and has even started giggling at our dog. Her face lights up when she sees someone she loves … and oh, speaking of that …

… two weekends back, we went to go see Auntie Jenny! AKA, my BFF. 🙂 Gracey LOVED Jenny. I shouldn’t have been surprised. Eeeeeveryone loves Jenny. It’s kind of against the law to dislike this girl.

For my 20th (OK, 30th) birthday, Tommy told me we were taking the weekend off and heading up to Door County. YAY I thought, bring on the cherries! I’ll never pretend to know much about the whole north/south/east/west thing, but one thing I do know is this: Chicago is not on the way to Door County. As we were heading south early Friday morning, I said, “Dear … this isn’t the way to Door County.” He then handed me a super sweet card and explained we were going to see Jenny instead. 🙂

This week’s Friday’s Frame is from Gracey’s first official out-of-state adventure! I snapped this pic at a 7-Eleven somewhere between Milwaukee and Indianapolis, just far enough south to hear some good ole’ southern accent and enjoy a Mountain Dew slurpee. Gracey was pretty excited about getting behind the wheel — can’t blame her, they let ’em drive a bit young down there. 😉 “Faster, Daddy, faster!! I MISS JENNY!”

Anyone want to see more pics from our Indianapolis adventure? Let me know, I’d be happy to do a post. 🙂

Check back soon for the blog post from this past Saturday’s beautiful Grain Exchange wedding! Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!
