She told me they were nervous. I said not to worry. A half-hour into the photo shoot, the world surrounding Dyan and Chris seemed to disappear — these two loooooooove each other, I thought to myself.
Dyan and Chris are not flashy people. But when Chris looks at her, you can feel the love, protection and pure adoration. Oftentimes, as I hide behind my camera snapping away, I smile just as wide as my subjects — it’s great to see happiness unfold right before my eyes.
Dyan and Chris knew they wanted a few photos around the Milwaukee Art Museum, but beyond that, they were open for anything. We met up late in the afternoon, when the light was warm and golden. I couldn’t have asked for a nicer day in the middle of our Wisconsin winter.
We decided to walk down the street and take a few shots in front of the beautiful Northwestern Mutual Life Building. The pilasters made for a super cool backdrop!

The next time I photograph Dyan and Chris, there won’t be any worries about the weather … because we’ll be in Jamaica!! I’m extremely excited to have the opportunity to photograph their destination wedding in Montego Bay. Jamaica sun here we come!
