Friday’s Frame ~ Love different.

It was one of those moments. I wasn’t sure if my heart froze or melted. But it did something. In between the skipping beats, I wondered what I ever did to deserve a love this great.

So I did what I do. I grabbed my camera.

“I’m never going to ask Daddy who he loves more,” I said to Gracey a few weeks back. “Because I don’t want to know.” Tommy and I both shared a glance and smiled. We get it. You don’t love more, you just love different.

It doesn’t matter if it’s 5 a.m. or midnight. The light can be horrible or amazing. I may have taken 3,000 photos that day or maybe it’s the first time I put my camera to my face. But I keep snapping, partly for me, mostly for her. Someday, amidst these prints and digital files, I hope my daughter realizes how much love surrounds her. I hope she knows how much I love her daddy, and how much he loves me.

Sweet dreams, sweet girl. (I say that as if she actually sleeps …)

Check back soon for a post from last weekend’s amazing wedding, and …

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! Be good to all the fantastic fathers in the world. 🙂
