Friday’s Frame ~ Milwaukee wedding photographer

There are days when God just knows.

He knows when you could use a pick-me-up. He knows when it’s hard to make lemonade out of lemons. And He knows when two handcrafted thank you notes need to arrive in your mailbox.

For me, that day was last week. As I walked up the driveway with our mail in hand, I noticed an envelope from a dear past bride of mine, Shawna. I opened the letter — inside, I found not only a card from Shawna and her husband, Jason, but also two handmade thank you notes from their children, Jillian and Harrison. (As if those two adorable children needed to steal my heart away just one more time.) 🙂

Dear, Katie,

Thank you for capsherin one of the most in Portin times of my life in Picshers. They were grat. I love them alot.

Thank you Katie!

Sincely,

🙂 Jillian

I think it’s absolutely amazing the details children pack away in their little memory banks. You’ll notice in Jillian’s picture above (the yellow one), she drew a picture of a photo I took. I had taken a photo of the wedding rings in Jillian’s hands, which can be seen in the post here. And check out Harrison’s drawing. He remembered every. last. detail! His hat, his bow tie, Shawna’s hand warmer, his dad at about 7 feet tall :), and there I am … in the background, taking a photo of all four of them. (And yes, there was a point where I was actually walking BEHIND the four of them, taking their photo as they walked away. Harrison noticed!) 🙂

Shawna and Jason, I know you felt the thank you card was “late” … but honestly, it couldn’t have arrived at a better time. 🙂 Thank you, times a million!

In a couple hours, I’ll be heading out for a little girl’s session in this BEAUTIFUL weather … I can’t wait to spend some time outdoors. It’s about dang time, Wisconsin. 😉 As for this weekend: If anyone is interested in attending the annual Wisconsin News Photographers Association convention, it’s tomorrow! And no, it’s not just for photographers! The general public is invited to attend with a mere $10 suggested donation. We have some great speakers lined up this year, including the Green Bay Packers team photographer, a photographer from the (Minneapolis) Star Tribune who has been documenting his 8-year-old daughter’s battle with a brain tumor, and a staff photographer at USA Today. Come check it out! You won’t be disappointed.

Have a great weekend everyone — give your mom an extra tight hug!
