Friday’s Frame ~ Snow fingers

If you know Gracey even a little, you know one thing is true: She loves to eat.

This morning, I took her outside to check out the fresh snow on the ground. As soon as she realized she could eat it, she gave me a devious look and started attacking one of the bushes with her hands and mouth. 🙂 It’s ok baby girl, you can eat all the snow you want … it’s not sugar, Mommy won’t stop you.

(Parental note … about 20 seconds after I snapped these innocent pictures, a major meltdown occurred because she realized her fingers were too cold. 🙂 Yes she has gloves, but you can’t eat snow with mittens on!)

As for Gracey’s baby brothers … well, they are still in my belly! 🙂 Each week is an accomplished goal. I’m about 28 weeks now, so definitely not far along enough to deliver, but with twins, every day is a blessing. I would love to make it to mid-January. I have an ultrasound next week to check on the babies’ growth, so we’re praying for good news. This pregnancy has been difficult in opposite ways compared to my pregnancy with Gracey — the first time around, I had unbearable, chronic pain from fibroid degeneration, as well as a very itchy condition called PUPPS rash. Thankfully, this time around, I haven’t had any of that (yet), but of course with twins, I feel twice as pregnant. Simply put, it’s hard, and even harder with a toddler. Braxton Hicks, tightness and pressure are constant. Breathing is difficult (these babies like to push on my lungs). Sleeping is painful and sporadic. But I have amazing family members who help me out a TON with Gracey, as well as her fantastic babysitter, and most of all, Gracey’s prince — her daddy. Without these people, a twin pregnancy with a toddler would be next to impossible. The more I’m able to rest, the lower the chances of preterm labor.

Have a safe, warm weekend everyone. 🙂
