Friday’s Frame ~ Goodnight Christmas tree!

I wish I could bottle up our sweet little girl this month and open it up in mid-March … you know, when Wisconsin winters can seriously take a hike.

But this month, oh this month … does it get any better than this? Gracey, who will turn 2 in just a couple weeks, seems to take in something new every hour. Christmas trees, Christmas lights, baby Jesus, Santa, snowmen, boots, Rudolph, reindeer … it’s magical to see your child enjoy this time of year for the first “real” time. The way her eyes light up every morning when she turns on the Christmas lights, or how she says, “Goodnight Christmas tree” each night before bath time. She’ll hear “Ho ho ho” on the radio and say, “I hear Santa!” Yes, of course we have our trying 2-year-old moments, but tonight I said to Tommy, “Doesn’t she just melt your heart every five minutes?”

Another place Gracey LOVES (dare I say it) is Cabela’s. Tommy won. We go there quite often — not to buy things — but to see the animals. She loves the big aquariums and of course, the deer/moose/lion/zebra/ducks/you-name-it. As we exit off the highway, Gracey sees the store in the distance and oh my goodness, you’d think it was the circus … “DADDY!!! I see it!! Daddy! YIPPEE!”

This past weekend we stopped by because we knew Santa was making an appearance, but after realizing the Santa line was about 45 minutes long, minimum, we decided to simply walk by Santa, wave and get a photo with “Santa’s reindeer” instead. (1. Gracey wouldn’t have sat on Santa’s lap anyway. 2. 45 minutes in line with a toddler is equivalent to four hours. 3. 45 minutes standing in line while 31 weeks pregnant with twins is not possible, unless Santa is a doctor.)

(She likes Daddy’s silly faces.)

And one more photo from picking out our Christmas tree this year …

Check back soon for a twin belly pic. 😉 The boys are doing well and growing right on track as far as we know — we are very thankful! This pregnancy has been very hard on me physically, but the end is close! My goal is to carry them for at least one more month, but you never know what’s in store with two babies inside. Some days one more month feels impossible, but other days are better. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can … 🙂

Have a safe weekend!
