Friday’s Frame ~ Waiting …

“It’s a scrumptulous world and it’s ready to greet you. And as for myself … well … I can’t wait to meet you!”

As I sit in our nursery and page through a book published solely for the purpose of being read in utero, I think about how my parents brought me home from the hospital in a rented car seat. Oh, how times have changed. Was parenting easier without 399 car seats to research, or an entire wall of baby bottles to pick from? Most likely, no. Parents had the same basic worries 25 years ago. It all comes down to health and happiness for your children, and that, my friends, you cannot buy.

This week has been an interesting one. Tommy and I actually spent Wednesday evening and Thursday morning in the hospital. Baby Gardner was causing a bit of trouble in my belly! The doctors ran some tests and hooked me up to a baby monitor for the night. Thankfully, my contractions subsided and a few other symptoms have cleared. So, no baby yet! She still has a few more weeks of free rent, as Tommy says. 🙂

Although my stay was anything but relaxing, it did give us the chance for a “test run.” I now realize the hospital isn’t a hotel and you need to bring your own toothpaste. However, I did try the cafeteria’s blueberry pancakes, and they were FABulous. But that’s where the fabulous’ness ended. (Don’t get me wrong, the nurses and doctors were kind as kind can be.) It could have been my uncomfortableness, or maybe it was the 3 a.m. screams of the poor woman in labor just down the hall. (Yes, that happened .. All. Night. Long.) Either way, I barely slept a wink, and I’m thankful to be home once again. With a few extra prayers, hopefully our next stay will result in leaving the hospital as three, not two. 🙂

As for my photography, I’m continuing to edit and fulfill print/product orders. I’ve also been designing a few albums and I’m working on some business-related projects. Hopefully, I can continue to update the blog until I have the baby for real, so check back soon for additional posts. 🙂

Have a great weekend!
