Jenny and Chad — Wisconsin wedding photographer

“And then, Chad laughs … and as soon as I heard that laugh, that’s when I knew I was watching something special, because that laugh is what love sounds like. And the truth is, I’ve never seen the two of them together where Chad doesn’t have that goofy grin on his face. … That’s the one right there.”

Puya, one of Chad’s close friends and groomsmen, said it best during his toast: Puya told the story of how he first “met” Jenny through a video Chad e-mailed him. Jenny and Chad were playing with their camera, attempting to take a photo of themselves, but the camera was unknowingly set to its video option. The video Puya saw was only about 10 seconds long, but it was all he needed to see: “That laugh is what love sounds like.”

It was one of those speeches that sent shivers down my back — the kind of shivers that tell you, This is real, this is honest, this is love. Puya came up to me later on in the night and said, “As a photographer, I know you hear a lot of speeches … was mine awful?” I looked at him blankly, as if he was kidding. No, I said, it was one of the best.

Meet Jenny and Chad. This couple is … so. darn. cute. I was able to spend a little time with Jenny several weeks back when I photographed the wedding of one of her bridesmaids, Sara. Jenny is quick-witted, funny and totally beautiful. When Chad is by her side, the two hit a 10 on the adorable scale.

And not that this couple needed any more beauty added to their day, but The American Club in Kohler is an absolute pristine place. The crystal chandeliers hanging from the ceiling outside the ballroom are not soon forgotten — until I saw those chandeliers, I thought I had never been to The American Club. But they jogged a memory I had of my cousin’s wedding in Kohler when I was just a little girl.

The details of this wedding were what made the day extra classy. I just loved the color of Jenny’s dress (maybe because it’s close to the color of my own?). 🙂 If dresses were edible, this one looks delicious. The champagne color reminds me of white chocolate!

And shoes to match.

I love the next photo of Jenny walking to her ceremony: All eyes are on her, just as they should be.

The cutest part about the next photo is I didn’t say a word. This was Jenny and Chad’s natural expression as they started swinging together. Adorable!

A few details from the reception — I was addicted to these candelabras.

Sometimes, as I hide behind my camera, I like to say to myself, “Oh I can dance like that … no big deal … it’s too bad I’m the photographer, otherwise I’d be showing everyone MY moves.” But yeah, I can’t. A girl can dream. And this couple can swing like nobody’s business.

Shortly before I left, several family members formed a circle around Jenny’s grandparents as they danced. I thought it was a special moment and great idea.

Congratulations, Jenny and Chad!
