The 10-minute post

I want to be a better blogger. True story. It’s on my list of things to do … right next to cook more, work out more, relax more, clean less, be a fiancée more, indulge in more coffee and dinners with friends and maaaaaaaaaybe (just maybe) teach our puppy how to run alongside me without breaking my arms or legs. “She’s just a puppy,” Tommy says when I get frustrated. Ha! Actually, she’s about 9 (human) years old. Nine-year-olds can totally run … I think?

It’s been a busy couple of weeks. When I’m not shooting I’m editing, and when I’m not editing I’m e-mailing, and when I’m not e-mailing I’m scheduling, and when I’m not scheduling I’m … staring at Tommy blankly, thinking, “Are you sure you want to marry a photographer?” Which reminds me … there’s that wedding thing we’re trying to plan. FOUR MORE MONTHS! I got a call today saying my dress is IN! Which, is a very exciting time, I must say. But while the lady on the phone was saying, “Great news! yada yada … dress … in … come see it … alterations … bring shoes!” … all I could think was, “I wonder how late my gym is open?”

Tommy’s aunts threw me a beautiful wedding shower a couple weeks back at the Milwaukee Athletic Club. Whew! Fancy pants to the max. (I couldn’t bring myself to take advantage of the valet parking, so my mom and I found street parking a few blocks away and walked.) 🙂 We received so many nice gifts … all of which are still sitting in our dining room, untouched from the night of the shower. Tommy and I can’t decide whether or not to use the gifts before the wedding! Thoughts … anyone? I was all for it, but then we (OK, he) read online that it could be a bad omen? Well I’m not one to be superstitious, and I totally need those brand new fluffy bathroom towels. And the Chicago Cutlery steak knives. And the beautiful vases. And the iron. OK who are we kidding … I don’t really need the iron quite yet. (I’m not ironing until I have a husband.)

So that’s all for now, folks. No pictures today, but I promise some beauties in the very near future. In between shoots this weekend, I hope to play a little catch up!
