Pretty (awesome) products

Newspaper work. Wedding. Newspaper work. Wedding. Wedding. News. Wedding. Newborn. News. Wedding. And once in a while, I see Tommy … I think … in my dreams.

This week’s schedule went from a steady pace of 55 mph to a screaming 135 mph (literally) when a nasty tornado touched down in Eagle. Photojournalism has a stronghold on my heart and when news breaks, I get busy. Although it wasn’t the first tornado I’ve seen, the devastation never comes easy.

I’ll be the first to admit: I get bent out of shape about misplaced papers and a disorganized desktop. But life gives me a little slap when I go up in a two-seater to photograph aerials of houses with second stories thrown 50 yards away from the first. And today, I got a little closer look: I photographed a ground tour of the Eagle area given to Gov. Jim Doyle (he arrived in his Blackhawk helicopter, I arrived in my BlackHyundai … basically the same thing). Up in the air, I was able to see the path of destruction, but down on the ground, I saw the details. All of life’s belongings strewn about the neighborhood — covered in dirt and torn to pieces. Clothes. Tricyles. Tools. Furniture. Pictures. Books. Papers. Dishes. Everything. I pray for the people of Eagle — they’ve got a tough road ahead, but from what I witnessed the past couple of days, their spirits are unbreakable.

Anyone up for seeing some tornado shots? Let me know. Leave a comment if you’re at all interested and maybe I’ll do a separate post in the near future.

In the meantime, I’m going to switch gears a bit and unload some shots of new products I’ve had sitting around my office for quite some time now. Some of these are client products and others are samples I’ve ordered for display purposes. Can’t decide how to use your photos to decorate your home? Hopefully my New Products section will spark a few ideas.

The first is one of the coolest products I offer. It’s timeless, it’s bold, it’s beautiful. It’s called a fine art canvas gallery wrap. I’m sure you’ve all seen them … but maybe never dared to purchase one of your own? Trust me, you won’t regret it. This particular wrap is of a beautiful little girl I photographed last fall.

The next product photos are a couple variations on a handcrafted silk brocade 4×6 miniature album. These albums include 10 mounted photos. At just $45, this album is a perfect gift-giving idea for a family member or friend. A super-cool present, if you ask me!

One more! It’s called a float wrap. A float wrap is a modern, unique way to display your photos. They add dimension by extending out from the wall. This particular float wrap is of a baby boy I photographed several months ago. I added his first initial to the top of the wrap — I think it’s an adorable idea for a nursery. You could do the first, middle and last initial of one child on three different photos, or the first initials of all your children on several different photos.

That’s all for now, guys! Check back soon for some recent wedding shots.
