Bernie Brewer gets married! ● Sherri + Chris ● Milwaukee wedding photographer

I have a little news for ya, Milwaukee-area ladies: Any hopes and dreams of being Mrs. Bernie Brewer were crushed last month — Bernie got hitched! And the Mrs. is a super cool gal, I might add. 🙂

Celebrity weddings, I’ve ARRIVED. 🙂 OK, so I’m totally joking, and Chris would roll his eyes if he knew I called him a celebrity. But I saw his Brewers ID! It says, Bernie Brewer! The man behind the costume of the Milwaukee Brewers’ official mascot (the cheerful little guy with a big mustache who scoots down the yellow slide after every home run) is officially … taken! And most importantly, taken by a beautiful, sweet woman …

Sherri and Chris, it was an absolute honor to be your wedding photographer — I had so much fun at Miller Park! What an awesome place to have a reception.

Dinner was held at the Gehl Club — a restaurant with a super cool, modern interior decor — and best of all, guests could have drinks outside, sitting in the stands, overlooking the entire baseball field.

Here are a few shots to set the scene …

Miller Park had an event going on later in the evening, where kids came to camp out in the outfield and watch the baseball game on the big screen.

OK, back to the wedding. 🙂 The day started out with a few “getting ready” photos … men simply do not understand the effort it takes to get into a wedding dress. You think bridesmaids are there to stand by our sides and look pretty? No, they’re there to help us get into our dresses. It takes a team.

Simply gorgeous, isn’t she?

As you may notice, I became a bit obsessed with Sherri’s flower girl … such a little sweetheart.

Sherri’s bouquet, which I believe she put together on her own!

After the ceremony, we went to a park to meet up with Chris and Sherri’s child dog for a few photos. 😉 Sherri is my kind of bride: She flipped off her shoes, pulled up her dress and walked right on through the tall grass to play with her puppy.

We then headed to Miller Park and took the elevator down to field level, where Chris hooked us up with photos right on the diamond.

I thought the light bouncing off the stadium chairs was gorgeous … who has a photo like this?? Bernie Brewer does.

Yes, the Sausages even showed up for a couple shots. Ms. Flower Girl decided to check them out …

… but only for a second or two. I think Dad looked a bit more comforting than 8-foot sausage people. 🙂

As we left Miller Park, Chris pointed to the Bernie Brewer deck and Ms. Flower Girl said, “Bernie’s slide!” So cute.

The reception was simply beautiful; it was hard to choose which photos to post. Sherri and her mom did all of the table decorations and centerpieces. Looked fabulous!

We may or may not have snuck on over to Bernie’s slide for a couple photos of the bride and groom … I’ll never tell. 😉

I also met my biggest future competitor at the reception — she was vigilant with that little camera! 🙂

Just watchin’ baseball …

Thanks again, Sherri and Chris! I will never forget your big day! 🙂

Tomorrow, I’m off to WPPI (Wedding and Portrait Photographers International) Road Trip in Chicago. I can’t wait!! I’m looking forward to hearing some great speakers and coming back with a wave of inspiration. Exciting times!
